The UK's Oldest Working Saniflo?

Saniflo Service Engineer, Scott Minns, works in the North East supplying, installing and repairing Saniflo units. When he was called out to an elderly lady’s property in a village near Hull earlier this year he didn’t expect to find what might well be the UK’s oldest working Saniflo.

The 28 year old unit had originally been installed in the roof space of the customer’s dormer bungalow as part of a conversion project to create new bedroom and bathroom facilities. With all the plumbing downstairs due to the ground floor location of the original bathroom a Saniflo was installed to pump the waste across the roof void and down to meet the mains drainage.

Even more surprising for Scott was the discovery that this was only the second ever repair to the macerator and it only needed a quick membrane repair to be put back to full working order; testament to the quality and durability of Saniflo pumps.

Having given so many years of efficient service the customer was definitely happy to stick to her trusty Saniflo and reckons it will be in use for the foreseeable future.

Is this the oldest working Saniflo in UK? The macerator pump concept was first introduced in to the UK over 50years ago, so could there be an even older pump out there somewhere?

If so, we’d love to hear from you.
