Leading Tamworth showers and taps company Bristan Group has been commended as one of the sixty most innovative places to work in Europe in an official new study by European Union body, Eurofound.

Set up by the European Council in 1975, Eurofound is an EU-wide body whose role is to provide knowledge in the area of social and work-related policies to improve working and living conditions across Europe.

This year saw Eurofound embark on a new project to identify Europe’s top sixty companies who are leading the way in innovative workplace practices. The extensive process began with a survey of over 30,000 businesses identified as having innovative practices, with finalists subject to a series of interviews and, finally, a site visit which included further employee interviews.

Bristan Group won the award for its innovative approach to developing the full potential of its people and using their skills and knowledge to improve the business .

Bristan Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Ling believes that successful companies are increasingly those that focus on maximising their employees engagement by creating an environment of trust and empowerment. By doing this at Bristan Group, Jeremy has created a culture of continuous improvement and personal self-development. He sees a major part of his role being the need to offer employees “a great place to work” and setting a solid foundation of trust through a clear set of company-wide values. In this way, he believes he can create an environment where people can excel.

Subsequently, Jeremy was asked to present and share the Bristan Group at the EU Workplace Innovation Network (EUWIN) held in Sofia, Bulgaria on 29 th September 2014. The event was organised by the European Commission to allow the selected companies to share know-how and the application of workplace innovation to create more impact across Europe.

Jeremy Ling, CEO of Bristan Group, commented: “Bristan has, and will always be, a people-centred company. This was why, on joining the Group in 2009, my approach was to embed a clear, collective vision for the business founded on our most important asset; our people. The result has been an extraordinary few years; from exceptional product innovation through to delivering market-leading customer experience, we continue in our ethos of ‘always moving forward’.

“It’s fantastic to be recognised by the European Union with such a huge accolade. We remain committed to doing everything we can to invest in our talented staff to ensure we continue to provide a truly first-class customer proposition and ensure the success of the company.”
