In today’s highly competitive marketplace for pipe repairs, pitching for business becomes much easier if contractors can show they are using products and systems that have been independently approved. Further opportunities to stand out from the crowd arise if they can also prove they are they are independently qualified to use them safely and correctly.

A growing number of contractors that are both Energy & Utility Skills qualified and who use the Fernco Pipe Doctor system - the WRc Approved no-dig patch repair system from Fernco Environmental – are already better placed to win new business.

The Fernco Pipe Doctor is a cost effective solution for the permanent and watertight repair of damaged pipes, without the need for excavation. It is the only product of its kind to carry the highly coveted WRc Approved standard. This standard applies to repairs of up to 225mm pipe diameter, and applies to both the kit format and the company’s bulk system.

The WRc Approval is a ‘fit for purpose’ certification scheme that demonstrates to the marketplace that the product/service has achieved a required level of quality and performance. Following extensive testing carried out by the WRc, it has been verified that Fernco Pipe Doctor surpasses this standard.

Combined with the company’s recent introduction of an accredited Energy & Utility Skills training course, contractors can also impress current and potential customers with their status as ‘Factory Trained Installers’. This means they have attended a theory and practical training course and have an independent qualification certified by Energy & Utility Skills to provide a perfect patch repair - every time.

Helen Armitage-Calvert, Business Development Manager at Fernco Environmental, explains: “The WRc Approval for the Fernco Pipe Doctor provides contractors with assurance that the product has been independently tested in accordance with The Drain Repair Book, whilst our accredited training qualification provides customers with confidence in the contractors’ technical ability and know-how.”

Helen adds: “The WRc Approval combined with accredited training can only serve to elevate the contractors’ professional standing. It also provides the client with the peace of mind they have installed a reliable, permanent no-dig patch repair.”
