The global leader in flexible couplings, drainage and plumbing systems - Flexseal - has bolstered its channel drainage offering with a new range of lightweight polyethylene-base products from Dakota. Designed specifically for commercial applications, this latest range provides a reliable surface water drainage solution suitable for a variety of installations and complements the company’s existing line-up of domestic channel drainage.
The only company to distribute this range in the UK, the new line-up is safe and easy to handle without compromising strength and resistance to fractures, and the base of the channel drains also helps reduce damage to stock in storage.
Designed to maximise water flow characteristics and self-cleaning properties, the new channel drains feature an interlocking channel tongue and groove ‘snap’ joint that enables the installation of preassembled gratings on channels to help save time during construction. An innovative body design also helps prevent floating during installation, whilst galvanised steel or ductile reinforced edge protection provides additional strength and a superior aesthetic finish.
Available in one-metre lengths and with a choice of 75mm and 150mm internal depths in BS EN1433 Class C250, D400 and F900, this standard channel drainage is specifically designed to withstand the rigours of a variety of commercial installations. An extended range of other specifications is also available to order.
Commenting on the launch, Flexseal’s Marketing Manager, Ed Fairfield said: “This latest range demonstrates our commitment to providing quality products that ultimately enable builders and contractors to benefit from easier installation. We are confident that it will soon become as popular as our widely-specified domestic channel drainage.”
The new channel drains boast a high temperature resistance of -50°C to +100°C and being chemically inert to a wide range of acids, salts and hydrocarbons, these drains may be installed throughout chemical plants, workshops and is especially suitable for roads and other areas with a high use of anti-freezing salts. The micro-organism and mould-proof surface also lends itself to those areas requiring a high level of hygiene such as the food industry.
