Stainless steel fixings specialist, Ancon Building Products, has updated its literature to highlight the products that now carry CE Marking under the Construction Products Regulation.

The updated Ancon publication, ‘Staifix Wall Ties and Restraint Fixings’, can now be downloaded from www.ancon.co.uk. Alternatively it is available in hard copy on request, with stocks available to Staifix distributors as a point-of-sale promotional tool.

As well as providing full product and installation guidance, the updated literature uses the CE logo throughout to help readers identify immediately those products which have been designed, tested and manufactured to a harmonised European Standard. This mark provides reassurance that these products can still be legally sold and used in the UK and throughout the wider EEA community.

To further assist its distributors to comply with the new regulation, which became law on 1st July 2013, Ancon has published a comprehensive 12-page guide entitled ‘CE Marking to the CPR’ which is also available online or in hard copy. This booklet summarises the products affected and the obligations throughout the supply chain.

Ancon’s Marketing Manager, Annabelle Wilson, said, “Ancon’s initial focus was on ensuring compliance with the new Construction Products Regulation in order to protect our distributors from supplying products illegally. Having completed all necessary product testing and successfully passing external audits of our design and manufacturing processes, our focus has now switched to ensuring that all the product and performance information needed to select our CPR-compliant products is readily available.”

“We have undertaken a complete review of our technical literature in line with Eurocode design methods, harmonised European product standards and the EU Construction Products Regulation.”
